Assistant Commercial Reporting Analyst

This exciting role within the commercial team reports to the Senior Category Development Manager for Mobile. As a key member of the commercial team you will be accountable for supporting the future planning requirements for the team and providing data analysis to support decision making across the Mobile Squad. This will include supporting Pay Monthly, Sim Only, Network and Buying teams with meaningful data to help support decision making across the whole category.
You will also be responsible for managing the Commissions Pricebook and ensuring that all data loaded into the system correctly captures and reports network commissions that flow into tariff margins across a number of categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissions Pricebook:
Responsible for managing the business-critical Commissions Pricebook, commercial changes, accuracy of its output to both the Trading teams and into official margin reporting
Master the technical requirements to execute commercial changes
Follow the audit controls, recording all the changes and approvals
Investigate and resolves potential issues with margin reporting
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the end-to-end pricebook process, the validity and drivers of key inputs and how the pricebook outputs are used by other teams
Look for opportunities to improve/simplify our processes and ensure process documentation is kept up to date
Support the Networks team with ad-hoc reporting linked to network commissions
Market Share reporting:
Lead within the Mobile Squad for GfK market share reporting on all Mobile categories
Produce weekly, monthly & ad-hoc reporting highlighting key trends, opportunities & challenges relating to the market and Currys sales
Identify links with other data sources to build compelling & insightful recommendations & updates for trading teams and the Mobile SLT
Liaise with GfK to resolve data integrity issues, ensure reporting is fit-for-purpose and to unlock extra insights
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the market share reporting & insight available to the trading teams
Data & Reporting:
Act as reporting SME within the Mobile squad – focused on sales, margin, network commissions & market share but also able to support/interpret other data
Develop and produce regular reporting to support category decision making
Answer ad-hoc questions promptly and accurately
Look for opportunities to improve and standardise reporting within the Mobile squad and supporting the transition of reporting to PowerBI
Take a holistic view of the Mobile performance, using knowledge to proactively analyse data and produce recommendations for relevant stakeholders
Support the modelling & development of new initiatives
Required Skills/Experience:
Category management/trading/marketing experience in FMCG/electricals or related retail business and/or skills as a commercial or pricing analyst
Experience of managing multiple internal stakeholders
Strong working knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint
Ideal experience - Mobile Phone market, PowerBI, Business Objects and/or other reporting solutions
