We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with disabilities, challenging behaviors, and complex medical needs.

This role involves assisting the Registered Manager in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people across Merseyside, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional development.

*Requirement:*

- Education: Relevant qualification in childcare, social work, or a related (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above).

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in community care and support, working with children with disabilities and complex needs,

- Strong understanding of child protection issues, regulatory requirements, and best practices in the field.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Proficient in record-keeping and case management software.

- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the lives of children.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and resilience in challenging situations.

*Key Responsibilities*

1. Leadership and Management:
* Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day operations of the children’s home.

* Provide guidance and supervision to staff, ensuring high standards of care and support.

* Assist in staff recruitment, training, and performance management.

2. Care and Support:
* Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.

* Monitor and evaluate the progress of residents, making necessary adjustments to care plans.

* Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children.

3. Compliance and Regulation:
* Ensure the home meets all regulatory and compliance standards.

* Assist in preparing for inspections and audits, maintaining accurate documentation.

* Stay informed about changes in legislation and best practices in child care.

4. Communication and Collaboration:
* Liaise with families, external agencies, and professionals involved in the care of the children.

* Facilitate regular meetings with staff to discuss resident progress and any concerns.

* Promote positive relationships among residents, staff, and families.

5. Crisis Management:
* Respond effectively to incidents of challenging behavior and medical emergencies.

* Implement de-escalation strategies and support staff in managing difficult situations.

6. Training and Development:
* Provide training and support to staff on best practices for caring for children with disabilities and complex needs.

* Encourage continuous professional development within the team.
