What is the role?

CS Construction Staffing are excited to be recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to join the Commercial Team of a top 10 house builder.

This role focuses on the ordering and procurement of various materials for regional developments as well as assisting with other duties within the buying team and reports directly into the Commercial Manager.

You will assist with a cost effective and timely supply of materials for projects and contracts to ensure completion is within budget.

The role will include:

Support with the procurement and scheduling of materials ensuring compliance with procurement procedures, quality assurance requirements and regulations to ensure costs are controlled and projects complete on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure a cost-effective supply of materials for projects and contracts to ensure completion is within budget.
Support with the production of accurate and timely valuation reports and management information to enable the Commercial management team to make informed business decisions.
Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company to ensure achievement of targets.
Comply with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to ensure health and safety standards are met.
What they need from you?

Able to work with minimal supervision to meet time sensitive deadlines.
Capable of working on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise workloads.
A good working knowledge of Excel is an essential
Previous experience within the housing sector would be preferable, with a good understanding of housing and construction processes.
Full UK driving licence
