This well-established fastener business shas anew role for an Assistant Accountant to join their busy finance team

This is a key role supporting the Financial Controller, managing accounts payable and receivable functions, carrying out administrative duties and timely reporting of financials

Duties

Accounts Receivable:

* Checking remittances and forwarding to Shared Service Centre, allocating cheques to customer accounts and posting to bank, taking card payments via online portal and posting on ledger, chasing customers for payment, monitoring of block list.

* Process new credit applications – requesting trade references, performing credit checks on D & B and sending to management to approve before applying to master data.

* Handling customer queries and providing copy invoices and POD’s.

* Control of Industry key accounts receivables. Processing of invoices, matching, query resolving, statements.

* Releasing credits once processed by Sales.

Accounts Payable:

* Checking and Coding of vendor invoices and emailing over to shared service centre for processing.

* Approving Payment Proposals sent twice weekly by Shared Service Centre in the absence of Business Controller.

Other

* Month End postings such as Transport Accruals, Recurring Entries and clearing Suspense Accounts.

* Cooperation on annual closing including External Audit

* Maintain Monthly Control Accounts for main P & L and Balance Sheet codes ensuring correct postings and also for Audit and Tax Pack Purposes

* Credit Card Expenses and Payment of Employee Expenses and Petty Cash.

* Support Business Controller in Quality Assurance and H & S administration.

* Performing project work assigned by the Business Controller.

* Daily Sales Report in absence of Business Controller

The ideal candidate will be:

* AAT Part Qualified or equivalent

* Previous experience working in a Finance Department.

* Computer literate. Good excel skills

* Ability to multitask

* Knowledge of SAP

This is a hybrid role with 2/ 3 days in the home/ office split
