Assistant Accountant

Description:

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a great business in the Bradford area as they look to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Finance team with the day to day running of the department, including month end duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Posting journals
Purchase and sales ledger, including credit control, when needed
Daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Nominal ledger reconciliations
Supporting other members of the accounts department in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Supporting with the audits and information required by other external parties
Processing of expenses
Other ad-hoc duties as required
Undertake project work as and when required and support Operational Managers
To be committed to own continuing professional development.
To work alongside the other Finance team and assist with any queries/tasks as required
Person Specification:

Ideally recently qualified AAT or Accounting graduate
Sound experience in all round accounts role
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work within limited supervision; to make decisions and use own initiative
Ability to demonstrate strong IT skills including Excel
Excellent listening skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines and to manage a number of activities at any one time
Strong attention to detail
Ability to deal with sensitive & confidential matters as necessary
Ensure high levels of data protection and security at all times and swift reporting of breaches
