Assistant Accountant

Description:

CMA are partnering with an Engineering SME who are seen as market leaders in their field to recruit an  Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.  The role is newly created due to the continued growth of the business and will join a small  team based in Portsmouth. This role will be the main point of contact for finance and will develop into a Financial Controller role in time. 

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow and P+L;
Purchase ledger including processing, coding and matching of invoices
Monthly supplier payment run
Adhoc payments
Sales ledger
Bank reconciliation
Quarterly VAT returns
Assisting with payroll
Adhoc duties as required by the wider team.
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

Minimum of 2 year’s experience working within finance, ideally as an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant
Studying towards AAT or equivalent
Comfortable with working in an SME environment
Experience of Quickbooks would be advantageous but not essential.

7.30am – 4.30pm hours with a 1pm finish on a Friday
