CMA has been engaged to recruit for this newly created Assistant Accountant role based in Weymouth, Dorset to join our manufacturing client.
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will support the management team in daily responsibilities, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as participating in special projects.
This opportunity is offering you a salary of £25,000 to £27,000 as well as additional benefits of career progression, workplace pension, and opportunity for study support.
What responsibilities will the Assistant Accountant include?
Provide support towards the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
Management of the purchase ledger;
Carry out bank reconciliations and other ad hoc reconciliations;
Updating the fixed asset register and posting depreciation journals;
Offer support towards budget preparation and reviewing costs vs budget reports;
Arrange supplier payment schedules;
Provide holiday cover for the finance assistant and other ad hoc duties.
The suitable candidate for the Assistant Accountant role:
AAT studying or similar accounting qualification;
Previous experience of accounting, and in particular purchase ledger knowledge;
Good interpersonal skills and have the ability to speak clearly and concisely;
Excellent attention to detail, organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
A good team player and the ability to work as an individual.
