Asset Manager

As our business continues to grow across the UK, we are looking for an Asset Manager – Field Representative to join our team.

Asset Manager Job Purpose

The Asset Manager – Field Representative is responsible for the ownership and management of assigned customer accounts across the UK, ensuring effective asset control, compliance with commercial agreements, and the delivery of operational and financial performance.

This role combines account management with hands-on operational responsibility and requires active involvement in stock control, data analysis and customer site activity. You will work closely with customers to review account performance, address non-compliance and drive improvements in stock management, asset turnaround and process adherence.

The role involves regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK, alongside attendance at head office up to 2 times per week for administrative tasks and audit follow-up activities.

A flexible approach to working hours is required, including early morning and occasional out-of-hours visits to support audits and operational requirements. The position may also involve occasional overnight stays and infrequent weekend working (typically up to three or four times per year).

Asset Manager's Key Responsibilities

Customer Account Management

Work collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective management of assets, compliance with commercial agreements and delivery of agreed service levels.

* Monitor and analyse asset movements using internal systems and Excel-based reports, identifying discrepancies, risks and opportunities for improvement.

* Conduct regular customer reviews to discuss account performance, asset movements and adherence to agreed commercial and financial terms.

* Ensure customers comply with agreed operating conditions, including stock levels, asset dwell times and process requirements.

* Carry out on-site visits, including physical stock counts and audits, reconciling discrepancies and driving resolution of variances.

* Monitor and manage asset dwell times, working with customers to improve asset turnaround and availability.

* Educate, support and challenge customers where commercial, operational or financial processes are not being followed, ensuring corrective actions are agreed and implemented.

* Identify operational and commercial opportunities within customer accounts and recommend actions to improve performance and reduce risk.

* Review actual volumes against customer forecasts, identify variances and work with customers to align future volume expectations.

Coordination and Process Improvement

* Coordinate activities internally and externally to ensure consistent processes, successful audit completion and high standards of service delivery.

* Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardise ways of working.

* Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and operational challenges.

* Monitor product usage and take appropriate action to prevent misuse or process deviation.

* Take ownership of audit actions, working with customers and internal teams to ensure timely completion.

* Support the implementation of agreed processes relating to stock management, reporting and account administration.

* Maintain accurate records and ensure all account-related administrative activities are completed effectively.

Reporting and Analysis

* Provide accurate reporting and meaningful insight to support effective decision-making and account performance management.

* Produce regular reports on asset movements, stock positions and overall account performance.

* Monitor and report on compliance with contractual agreements and operating conditions.

* Identify risks, trends and areas of concern, escalating issues where appropriate.

* Provide insights into customer performance, market developments and competitor activity.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records to support operational and commercial decision-making.

* Provide management with regular updates on asset performance, customer activity and market developments.

Asset Manager's Skills and Experience

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a customer-facing account management role.

* Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel to identify trends, discrepancies and performance issues, Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

* Experience conducting site audits, stock counts and operational reviews.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders.

* Knowledge of logistics, supply chain operations or asset-based business models would be advantageous.

* Full UK driving licence.

Asset Manager's Benefits

Salary up to £43K (DOE), Company car or car allowance, Annual performance bonus of up to 5% of salary, subject to individual KPIs and company performance, 40-hour working week, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, Birthday leave, Employer pension contribution of 4%, Private medical insurance & Life assurance cover of four times annual salary.
