Position Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations in line with company policies, procedures and QMS. Specifically managing the assembly, auto assembly, glass printing and maintenance teams

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

Lead and manage all aspects of the production process from assembling parts to completion of products and shipping, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards along the way.

Team Leadership:

Provide Leadership and guidance to the production team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.

Resource Planning:

Develop and implement production schedules, resource plans, capacity assessments to meet production targets and customer demands.

Quality Assurance:

Work alongside the QA/RA department to ensure quality and regulatory standards are consistently met.

Process Optimisation:

Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation, implementing best practices to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations.

Supplier Management:

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components, maintaining strong relationships and negotiating favourable terms.

Health and Safety:

Ensure a safe working environment for all production staff, adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

Budget Management:

Manage production budgets and capital wish lists effectively, controlling costs and maximising efficiency to achieve financial targets.

Continuous Improvement:

Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the production department, implementing lean manufacturing principles and fostering innovation and cost saving.

HR Management:

To ensure all employees under the production manager responsibility are adhering to the company HR policy and that all issues and dealt with swiftly and professionally in accordance with the company policy alongside our HR manager

Reporting:

Generate regular reports on production performance, analysing key metrics and identifying areas for improvement to inform decision making and strategic planning.

General Responsibilities:

* Lead a team of skilled Supervisors, Engineers, and operators.

* Manage the manufacturing processes, systems, procedures, and resources to achieve the business objectives and growth plan.

* To ensure that the departments can supply high quality finished products as per company orders and forecasts.

* Work alongside the R&D department to offer support in relation to new products and developments.

* Identify and provide help, support, and training to manufacturing team members.

* Assist in departmental budgeting.

* Formulate strategic objectives and spearhead projects.

* Generate, communicate, and manage the production schedules.

* Prepare, monitor and report KPI’s for the manufacturing department ensuring that these align with company goals, values, and vision.

* Drive continuous improvement in relation to all department practices, with a firm focus on efficiency.

* Manage and ensure efficient use of resources, materials, and equipment.

* Monitor and report production performance and take necessary action if issues arise.

* Analyse data through the use of MES, ERP, CMMS and SPC systems and ensure that targets are met.

* Manage the in-house maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is kept at optimum performance levels, with a focus on reducing reactive maintenance and promoting preventative maintenance.

* Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers of service and products for the benefit of the company.

* Report on all assembly operations and key metrics in the Management meetings.

* To ensure you take responsibility for your contribution to compliance with the company's quality system, you must complete all allocated training via the provided software within the completion dates given.

* Forward all external training certificates and pay/wage changes to HR for filing.

* Any other reasonable duties that may, from time to time be required by the company.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Proven experience of working in a hi-tech and dynamic factory environment.

* Experience using, developing and implementing bespoke automation solutions.

* Management experience across a range of employees with varying skills sets within a factory.

* Excellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail.

* Strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders by making sound and confident recommendations and decisions.

* Familiar with management software systems such as MES, ERP, SPC, and CMMS.

* Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally
