Description:

Our client who are based in Nelson - who's core business is in designing, manufacturing, installing and commissioning bespoke industrial equipment are looking for an Assembly And Installation Manager to join a friendly, hardworking team.

Salary is £50k (39hrs) + Overtime (reviewed annually) plus mobile phone, as well as many other company benefits.

You will be responsible for the efficient, effective and timely assembly of all companies' machinery and its subsequent installation on site, although the role is not site based. You will closely manage and direct the Company's Site Foremen, Commissioning and Servicing Engineer, assembly and installation teams to ensure that deadlines are met.

This position is a 'hands-on' role and it will be expected that you will spend approximately 75% of your time on the shop floor with the remaining time being office based.

Responsibilities
o Manage all aspects of the assembly and installation of all machinery.
o Provide leadership and direction to the Company's Site Foremen.
o Work alongside the Projects team to effectively plan a timeline for assembly and installation that meets both the Company's and Customer's requirements.
o Manage the performance and development of the Company's Site Foremen.
o Responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety during the assembly process and ensuring Site Foremen comply with Health and Safety requirements during the installation process,
o Be an active part of the Company's Senior Management Team, attending the weekly management meeting and updating the meeting on ongoing assemblies and installations. Highlight any current or foreseen issues.
o Pro-actively liaise with the Projects team to ensure that ongoing assemblies and installations are not going to result in expenditure over and above the set budget, meeting project milestones.
o When required work alongside the HR Manager on any recruitment required to fill gaps or enhance the assembly and installation resources of the Company.
o Liaise with the Procurement Manager to ensure that parts are received in a timely 'just in time', cost effective manner.
o Manage the Company's Commissioning and Servicing Engineer, ensuring commissioning deadlines are met.

Skills and Requirements:
HNC/HND in mechanical engineering
Experience 5 years' experience in a similar environment
Significant experience in managing teams within an engineering environment
Significant and demonstrable machine assembly experience
Clear, concise communication skills and strong managerial skill and ability
Smart, professional 'can-do' attitude to work
