ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant - Havering

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children with ASD and ADHD and helping them get the most from their school day? Academics are currently recruiting for two ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistants in Havering to join a welcoming primary school on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build on their experience supporting pupils with additional needs, while also having the chance to take on extra responsibilities within the school.

The Role

ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant
Location: Havering
Start: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, until July 2027
Pay: £95-£120 per day
Permanent opportunity: Available at the end of the contract

As an ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant in Havering, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASD and ADHD
Help pupils remain engaged, focused and confident in the classroom
Support learning through tailored activities and differentiated work
Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop independence
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team
Adapt your approach to meet individual needsAdded Opportunities

This Havering school offers more than just classroom-based TA work. There are opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and get involved with breakfast clubs and after-school clubs, giving you the chance to broaden your experience and become a valued member of the wider school team.

Previous experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD
A patient, calm and consistent approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
