The Role – ASD Teaching Assistant
A dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant is required to join a well-established SEN school in Lewisham on a long-term basis. This rewarding ASD Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of learning and communication needs. You will support students on a 1:1 basis as well as in small group settings, using individualised strategies to encourage engagement, independence, and emotional regulation. Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD and special educational needs is essential.
