ASD Specialist (with Personal Care) Position in Romford

As an ASD Specialist (with Personal Care), you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals to provide holistic support and guidance to students with ASD.

The Role:

As an ASD Specialist (with Personal Care), you will be responsible for providing personalized support and interventions to students with ASD, including assistance with personal care tasks such as toileting, dressing, and feeding. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized support plans and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with ASD.

Key Responsibilities:

- Providing one-to-one support to students with ASD, both in the classroom and in personal care settings

- Assisting students with personal care tasks, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times

- Supporting students in developing social skills, communication skills, and independence

- Implementing strategies and interventions to manage sensory sensitivities and behaviors associated with ASD

- Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to ensure coordinated support for students with ASD

Requirements:

- Relevant qualification or experience in supporting individuals with ASD, including personal care

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting individuals with ASD

- Knowledge of best practices and strategies for supporting individuals with ASD, including sensory integration techniques and behavior management strategies

- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with a willingness to undergo necessary background checks
