Long Term Learning Support Assistant

Wheatley, Oxfordshire

School: SEN School catering to children and young people with severe, complex, or profound learning difficulties

Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday Contract

Duration: September 2023 onwards. Trials/interviews to be held immediately

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Long Term Supply Learning Support Assistant at our SEN School in Wheatley, Oxfordshire.

About the School: Our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children and young people aged 2-19. We cater to students with a range of severe, complex, or profound learning difficulties, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive. Role and Responsibilities: As a Long Term Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to our students. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting students with their daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and communication.
Supporting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and implementing individual education plans.
Creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and encourages independence.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic development of each student.
Monitoring and recording student progress and reporting observations to the relevant staff members.
Establishing positive relationships with students, their families, and the wider school community.Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with severe, complex, or profound learning difficulties is highly desirable.
A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.
Flexibility, adaptability, and the willingness to assist with various tasks as required.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
