A leading housing association is looking for an Asbestos Project Manager to help keep homes safe, compliant and well managed across a large property portfolio. This role sits within the organisation’s Homecare directorate and focuses on designing, managing and delivering asbestos remedial programmes from initial scope through to completion.

The work matters because it directly supports resident safety, property compliance and the quality of homes across communities in the South of England. You will be helping to make sure asbestos-related works are properly specified, delivered to standard and managed in line with health and safety requirements.

Why consider this role?

This is a permanent opportunity with a strong social purpose. You will be working on projects that have a visible effect on homes, residents and compliance, rather than purely desk-based reporting.

The role offers a varied working week, combining hybrid working with site and operational travel. Company mileage is provided for business travel, and the post offers ongoing training and professional development.

There is also the opportunity to gain a Project Management qualification, making this a good fit for someone with solid asbestos experience who wants to continue developing their project delivery skills.

What you will be doing

You will be responsible for asbestos remedial programmes across the organisation’s operational geography, supporting the Asbestos Manager and working with approved framework contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

Scoping, specifying and project managing asbestos-related programmes of work from inception to delivery
Ensuring works are completed on time, within budget and in line with regulatory requirements
Carrying out audit inspections to check quality, specification and health and safety compliance
Maintaining clear records, reporting risks and issues, and sharing lessons learned during project delivery
Supporting stock compliance survey audits to make sure records are accurate and suitable
Working with colleagues across the business to share knowledge and support service improvementsWhat they are looking for

You will need demonstrable asbestos experience in a similar role, ideally gained within a housing association, contractor or consultancy environment.

Essential experience and qualifications include:

Minimum BOHS P402, or P403 and P404, or equivalent
Strong understanding of asbestos risk management and regulatory compliance
Knowledge of relevant statutory obligations, including CDM and asbestos regulations
Ability to plan, organise, project manage and deliver works efficiently
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and challenge based on evidence
Good Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Full driving licence, access to a car, business insurance and willingness to travel across the organisation’s geographical areasA Project Management qualification would be desirable, although training can be provided.

The role is hybrid, with travel across operational areas in the South of England. Candidates must be comfortable travelling as part of the role and will need access to a car for business use.

If your experience matches what they are looking for, please apply as soon as possible. We will review applications promptly and contact suitable candidates to discuss the role in more detail
