We are seeking a reliable, organised, and enthusiastic Art Technician to support the smooth running of our busy Art Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the arts and practical workshop skills who enjoys working in a creative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare, maintain, and organise art materials, equipment, and resources for lessons.

* Support teachers and students during practical art sessions.

* Maintain specialist equipment, including ceramics, printmaking, photography, and digital art resources (where applicable).

* Ensure classrooms, preparation areas, and storage spaces are clean, safe, and well organised.

* Assist with the installation and display of student artwork around the school.

* Monitor stock levels, order materials, and manage deliveries within the department budget.

* Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.

* Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs to equipment where appropriate.

* Support departmental events, exhibitions, and open evenings.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

* Experience working within an art department, workshop, school, college, or creative environment (desirable but not essential).

* Good practical skills and knowledge of a range of artistic materials and processes.

* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

* The ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.

* A flexible and proactive approach to supporting staff and students.
