About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Art Teacher to join a welcoming school in Rugby. You will teach Art to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, contribute to a positive department culture and help ensure that every learner can make strong progress.

The role would suit an experienced teacher or an early career teacher who combines secure subject knowledge with high expectations, inclusive classroom practice and a genuine passion for the arts.

The successful candidate will have the freedom to bring fresh ideas to the curriculum while working within the school's agreed schemes of learning and assessment framework.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver inspiring, well-structured Art lessons that meet the needs of pupils with different starting points and abilities.
Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Art using a range of materials, techniques and creative processes.
Support pupils in developing sketchbooks, portfolios and sustained projects from initial research through to final outcomes.
Assess work accurately, provide constructive feedback and use progress information to adapt future teaching.
Prepare pupils effectively for relevant examinations and coursework requirements, where applicable.
Create a safe, organised and stimulating studio environment in which pupils are confident to experiment and take creative risks.
Manage behaviour consistently in line with school policy and maintain high expectations for participation, effort and presentation.
Contribute to curriculum development, displays, exhibitions, enrichment activities and wider school events.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents or carers and pastoral teams to support pupils' achievement and wellbeing.
Maintain accurate records and fulfil all professional, safeguarding and health and safety responsibilities.

About You

You will be a reflective, reliable and imaginative teacher who is committed to helping pupils succeed. You will communicate clearly, build positive relationships and use your creativity to make learning purposeful and memorable.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
A relevant degree or strong specialist knowledge in Art, Fine Art, Art and Design or a related discipline.

Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
An inclusive approach and the ability to adapt teaching for pupils with a range of needs.
Strong organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

What We Offer
