Our client is a respected leader in their field and are now looking for an Arrears Recovery Officer to join the team. You will lead on arrears recovery, providing support to tenants by placing emphasis on early intervention and giving up-to-date advice on financial inclusion, debt counselling and benefit entitlement.
Role Overview
* To lead on arrears recovery, providing support to tenants by placing emphasis on early intervention and giving up-to-date advice on financial inclusion, debt counselling and benefit entitlement.
* To support your line manager in the production of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual key performance indicators (KPIs) for both external and internal stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Deal with any late payments and tenants change of circumstances
* Arrange for the production and distribution of regular rent statements to tenants
* Prepare all paperwork for the serving of Notices of Seeking Possession (NoSP) for County Court, Small Claims, DIY possession proceedings and evictions.
* Ensure the Possession Claim Online (PCOL) login is kept updated and the service used as necessary.
* Lead contact with the external Debt Recovery company for all former tenant arrears.
* Support your line manager in providing timely financial information for the effective and efficient management of the business.
* Support team meetings with weekly/daily finance related information, such as housing payments, Housing Benefit schedules, debit runs and rent increases.
Skills and Experience
* Significant experience of working within the Social Housing Sector with highly developed relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
* Arrears recovery experience, ideally in social housing and/or the voluntary sector.
* Demonstrable experience in recovering debts from tenants and commercial customers, using enforcement procedures within a customer-focused environment.
* Experienced in Rent & Service Charge setting legislation and procedures.
* Proven up to date knowledge of Housing law, Welfare Reform, legal requirements and practical application of legislation
* Knowledge of legislation and regulation on setting rents and tenant service charges.
