Area Sales Manager – Materials Handling / Equipment Rental

I’m working with a Leading Materials Handling dealer to recruit an experienced Area Sales Manager to develop and grow their presence across the Midlands.
This is a strong opportunity for a commercially driven salesperson who understands the rental industry, knows how to develop a territory and enjoys getting out in front of customers and winning business.
They provide materials handling and equipment solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors, and they are looking for someone with the energy, hunger and commercial ability to build long-term relationships and generate new rental opportunities.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a defined Midlands territory, responsible for developing new business while growing existing customer relationships.
The emphasis will be firmly on getting out into the market – identifying opportunities, meeting customers, understanding their equipment requirements and converting those conversations into profitable rental business.
You’ll be expected to manage your territory like your own business, building a strong pipeline and developing relationships across industrial, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and related sectors.
What We’re Looking For
Previous sales experience within the rental industry is essential.
You could currently be working within materials handling, forklift rental, plant hire, powered access, equipment hire or another closely related rental environment.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who is:
* Commercially driven and comfortable winning new business
* Experienced in managing and developing a geographical sales territory
* Confident dealing with customers at all levels
* Proactive, hungry and self-motivated
* Able to build long-term customer relationships rather than simply chase transactions
