The Role

As FEED Area Engineering Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple nuclear projects during the FEED phase at Sellafield. Your responsibilities include shaping engineering strategies, defining project scopes, managing requirements, and ensuring technical solutions are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. You will act as the key engineering focal point, facilitating collaboration among engineering disciplines, safety teams, operations, and stakeholders to deliver deliverable, high-quality outcomes that align with programme objectives.

You will oversee activities such as scope definition, requirements management, option development, TRL assessments, and project development to Gate 2 readiness. Your leadership will ensure engineering solutions are technically robust, efficient, and ready for detailed design and execution.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

Proven expertise in engineering leadership within highly regulated environments, particularly within the nuclear sector or other complex industries.
Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams through FEED, concept, feasibility, or optioning phases of major capital projects.
Strong understanding of engineering governance, design assurance, and risk management.
Demonstrable stakeholder management abilities, with a track record of influencing senior technical and programme stakeholders.
Knowledge of systems engineering, value management, requirements management, and technology readiness assessments is desirable.
