Architectural Technician - Hull
We have an fantastic opportunity for a Architectural Technician to join our client, a rapidly growing Modular Building Company based in Hull.
As Architectural Technician, you will be supporting the Technical and Pre-construction departments, acting as a vital support mechanism ensuring the company’s standard product is successfully incorporated into the RIBA stage 3/4/5 design. You will be following specifications and creating various technical drawings, communicating with design consultants, incorporating knowledge, preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the team, ensuring final designs are compliant with building regulations. You will also be Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
Responsibilities As Architectural Technician:
* Adherence to our Every Step Safely Health, Safety and Wellbeing inductions, policies and procedures.
* Responsible for collaborating with consultants from all relevant disciplines to develop designs that are transferable to a volumetric solution within multiple sectors.
* Provide guidance to consultants from various disciplines and in some cases create detailed drawing packages for planning submissions.
* Assist in the coordination of project activities with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
* Participate in design meetings and provide input on design concepts and solutions adopting company standard construction components and details at RIBA stage 3, 4 & 5.
* Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, adopting standard company construction components.
* Conduct quality checks on drawings and models to ensure accuracy and compliance with the company’s standard product, materials and relevant legislation.
* Be able Undertake full planning and building regulations submissions.
* Produce marketing material and manage the process in order to assist in increasing turnover of the business.
* Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in Revit software to enhance proficiency and efficiency in project delivery.
* Feed into Lessons Learnt, continuous improvements with both Product & Processes.
Requirements As Architectural Technician:
Qualifications (Essential)
* The ideal candidate will have a degree or HNC/D level education with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience. Advanced skills in Revit and AutoCAD are a must, and proficiency in 3dmax would be beneficial. While previous modular experience would be an advantage, it is not essential.
* Proficient in AutoCAD detailing, Revit Modelling and a good understanding of MS Office/Outlook
* Understanding of Building Information Modelling & BIM Interoperability Tools
Experience (Essential)
* Proven experience working as an Architectural Technician/Technologist/Architectural Designer
* Good understanding of the UK planning process and CDM responsibilities
* Construction experience, offsite preferred but not essential
* Knowledge of building regulation AD’s 2022
