Konker is currently recruiting for an Architectural Technician to join an award-winning architectural practice based in Oxford.
This practice consists of 8 motivated and hard-working members with a mix of full-time and part-time staff. They are now looking for the right person to fit into their tight-knit team who wants to improve their skillset and learn from those around them.
As experts in Passivhaus design and sustainable building, it is important for candidates to have a passion for sustainability and a keen eye for using materials as efficiently as possible. The practice has a varied portfolio built through the previous projects they have completed including large commercial refurbishments, renovations and extensions, and private residential new buildings.
The position will require 3-5 years’ experience, most preferably in the residential sector, as well as familiarity with low energy buildings or Passivhaus. Day-to-day tasks will consist of interpreting and delivering client briefs, preparing layouts and sketches complying with the latest industry regulations, and producing drawings for the construction phase.
Applicants would be expected to have good knowledge of robust details, sustainable housing, and building regulations. In addition, application of technical skills in the utilisation of software packages is required.
The Role: Architectural Technician
Produced detailed drawings to the construction phase
Prepare layouts, drawings, and sketches while complying with the latest regulations
Interpret and act on client briefs
Have strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
3-5 years’ experience preferably in the residential sector
Familiarity with Passivhaus is preferred The salary for this position ranges from £40,000-£45,000 depending on previous experience and they offer regular support and mentoring, if needed. There will be a two-stage interview process with face-to-face meetings for this role.
