Description:

Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with an established and highly regarded architectural practice in Shrewsbury, who are looking to add an Architectural Technician to their growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an Architectural Technician with around 2–5 years’ experience in architectural practice who is looking to take the next step in their career within a friendly, design-focused environment.

The practice works across a varied portfolio of commercial and residential projects, giving you the opportunity to gain experience across a range of project types and RIBA work stages. You’ll be joining a team where technical quality, good design and practical project delivery are all important.

The Role

As an Architectural Technician, you will be involved in the production and development of architectural information across a variety of residential and commercial projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

Producing detailed architectural drawings and technical information

Developing projects from planning through to technical design and construction

Working alongside Architects and other members of the design team

Assisting with Building Regulations and technical compliance

Producing accurate and coordinated drawing packages

Liaising with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders where required

Contributing to projects across different sectors and stages of the design process

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Around 2–5 years’ experience working within an architectural practice

Experience working as an Architectural Technician / Technologist

Good technical knowledge and an understanding of the UK construction industry

Experience producing technical drawings and detailed architectural information

A good understanding of Building Regulations and construction detailing

Good communication and organisational skills

A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility for your work

Experience within residential and/or commercial projects would be particularly relevant

The practice uses ArchiCAD as its primary software, so previous ArchiCAD experience would be advantageous. However, training can be provided for the right candidate, so strong technical ability and relevant architectural experience are more important than knowing the software already.

What’s on Offer?

Salary around £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects

ArchiCAD training and support where required

A friendly and collaborative working environment

The opportunity to develop your technical skills and progress your career

A position within an established architectural practice with a strong reputation across the region

If you’re an Architectural Technician with a few years’ experience and are looking for an opportunity in Shrewsbury where you can continue developing your technical skills and work on a varied range of projects, we'd be keen to hear from you.
