Company Description
An Apprentice Design Engineer is required to join the Infrastructure division of United Living as part of an exciting opportunity within an expanding team. You will work within the growing and tight knit engineering department in the delivery of construction related designs, R&D projects and project design input.
You will receive training and one to one mentoring that builds on your current educational/experience level, initially geared towards becoming a technical expert that can apply their knowledge in a variety of settings and the working towards achieving a BEng Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with Hons, with the future possibility for progression to Design Engineer and above.
Job Description
Specific Duties:
Produce layouts and detailed drawings using CAD packages
To assist the Design Team by contributing to the design and development of products and solutions including construction specific structural design solutions (temporary works)
Liaising with clients and third parties as part of the design process.
To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and look for areas of improvement continuously.
To maintain confidentiality, observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the department head.
Professional registration and progression to IEng/CEng will be encouraged.
Qualifications
Qualifications - Engineering Discipline or similar (e.g. Maths, Physics etc) with the following results:
A level – Minimum BBB
T level – Minimum Merit
GCSE – Minimum grade of 4 in the following : Maths, Physics (or equivalent science), English
Strong maths skills.
Must be computer literate and proficient using Microsoft Office.
Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team.
A positive “can do” attitude to learning new tasks and assisting the team where required
Enquires and seeks guidance, to understand the processes and associated industrial applications.
Working towards UK Driving Licence
