£600 per day (Inside IR35)

My client, in the utilities sector are looking for an Application Architect to join their fast-paced team on an initial 6 month contract based out of Glasgow on a hybrid basis.
Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to define and guide the architecture of cloud-based business applications and data-driven solutions. The role will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions deployed on Azure, with a strong focus on Kubernetes-based platforms and integration with enterprise data services.

Key Responsibilities

Define application architecture and technical design standards for cloud-native solutions.
Design and oversee solutions running on Kubernetes and Azure platform services.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate applications with data platforms, databases, and reporting solutions.
Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, performance, and governance requirements.
Support development teams through architecture reviews, technical guidance, and best practices.
Work with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into solution designs.
Essential Skills & Experience

Experience as an Application Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized application architectures.
Experience designing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of data integration patterns, APIs, ETL/ELT processes, and database technologies.
Experience working with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Skills

Knowledge of analytics and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI).
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
Familiarity with modern data governance and cloud security practices.
