AP Teacher – Burton (QTS Required)

Location: Burton

Contract Type: Full-Time

Start Date: Immediate / January 2027

Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary or Alternative Provision setting

Overview:

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected Alternative Provision (AP) setting in Burton to recruit a dedicated AP Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a resilient and compassionate educator to work with pupils who require alternative curriculum pathways, smaller group settings, and tailored re-engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver tailored core subject or specialist teaching to small groups of students within an Alternative Provision environment.

* Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

* Monitor student progress, track behavioural development, and implement trauma-informed interventions.

* Collaborate closely with SENCos, multi-agency teams, and pastoral support staff.

* Attend staff meetings, CPD, and review meetings as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

* Has at least 6 months of teaching experience within an AP, PRU, SEN, or mainstream secondary setting with strong inclusion focus.

* Is passionate about re-engaging vulnerable young people in education.

* Demonstrates outstanding de-escalation skills, resilience, and emotional intelligence.

* Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life.
