ALN Teaching Assistant Roles - Bridgend
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? Academics are currently recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants for a range of opportunities across primary schools in Bridgend and the surrounding areas.
We work closely with a wide variety of local schools who regularly come to Academics with Teaching Assistant vacancies, including 1:1 support, general classroom roles, small-group interventions and specialist ALN support.
The Roles
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities could include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN
Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and classroom activities
Working alongside the class teacher and wider support team
Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and communication skills
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Delivering targeted interventions where appropriate
Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
Supporting pupils with social, emotional and educational development

We're Looking For
Previous experience working with children in a primary school
Experience supporting pupils with ALN/SEN is highly desirable
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar
A caring, patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Confidence supporting a range of learning and behavioural needs
A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
Requirements
Enhanced DBS - essential
EWC registration - essential
