Airfreight Commercial Manager
Birmingham Business Park
£34,000 - £45,000 pa DOE
Our client who is a global Freight Forwarder is looking to expand their Airfreight department and are now looking for an experienced Airfreight Commercial Manager This is a great opportunity to join a successful growing company.
Lead and manage the Metro airfreight product commercially. Build and develop relationships with key suppliers, airlines and overseas stations as well as clients. Control Metro’s costs and optimise financial
performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead supplier and overseas partners procurement
• Control and Manage profit and loss of airfreight team
• Provide market intelligence and updates on an ongoing basis
• Promote MVT and I.T. capability
• Work closely with the pricing and procurement teams on quotations and tender responses
• Manage Airline and UK supplier relations
• Manage and maintain overseas partner relations and tariffs
• Support marketing campaigns and customer entertainment
• Work as part of a team sharing knowledge and experience proactively
• Ensure costs and sales are correctly and efficiently transferred into in house systems using tariff
management team
• Travel within the UK with the opportunity to travel internationally to meet with strategic
suppliers and contracts
General Skills
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in Airfreight industry
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in Air Forwarding
• Preferred 2+ years experince in a management role
• Must have a driving licence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Driven, proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
• Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
• Enthusiastic about opportunity for international travel
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• May be required to work overtime and/or be flexible in start/finish times
