Air Technician – M4 Corridor
The Opportunity
Rhino Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established specialist air hygiene and water treatment services provider to recruit an experienced Air Technician to join their growing team.
The company operates nationally, supporting clients across a range of sectors including high-security establishments, healthcare, local government and education.
This is a field-based role, with the successful candidate ideally located in the Midlands through to the South of the UK. The role will involve regular travel, with occasional overnight stays and unsocial hours where required.
The Role
As an Air Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of air hygiene, ventilation and associated maintenance activities across client sites.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out fire damper testing and inspections
* Installing duct access doors
* Undertaking ductwork and ventilation cleaning and disinfection in accordance with TR19 and COSHH requirements
* Carrying out kitchen extract cleaning in line with TR19 and COSHH requirements
* Cleaning and maintaining Air Handling Units (AHUs)
* Carrying out AHU corrosion treatment
* Maintaining accurate site records and administration, including timesheets, expenses, survey forms and job sheets
* Working safely and professionally on client sites, including high-security environments
About You
We are looking for an experienced Air Technician with a background in the air hygiene or ventilation hygiene industry.
You will ideally have:
* Previous experience within the air hygiene industry – essential
* Experience of fire damper testing
* An AHT qualification would be advantageous, although not essential
* Strong Health & Safety knowledge and a practical approach to working on site
* Experience or willingness to work at height and in confined spaces where required
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work effectively to deadlines
* Flexibility to work occasional unsociable hours
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
* A full UK driving licence
Security Requirements
As the majority of work is undertaken on high-security sites, successful applicants will be required to undergo the appropriate security vetting. This can range from an enhanced DBS check through to higher levels of security clearance, including CTC.
Location & Travel
This is a predominantly field-based position, with the successful candidate expected to work across the Midlands to South of the UK.
Regular travel is therefore an integral part of the role, and candidates must be comfortable with travelling to different client sites and staying away from home when required.
