Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician
Midlands, West Midlands - Mobile
£40,000 - £45,000 DOE + Company Van + Benefits
Permanent 40 Hours per Week

SF Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician to join an established engineering and technical services business, covering customer sites across the Midlands and West Midlands.
This is a mobile position combining planned and reactive servicing, fault finding, breakdown response and installation across a range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

The Role

As an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Service, maintenance and installation of air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems.
- Fault finding and diagnosis across Split, Twin, Multi, VRF/VRV and Chiller systems.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown work.
- Repairing and replacing defective components.
- Carrying out leak testing in accordance with F-Gas Regulations.
- Installation and servicing of existing A/C and small chiller systems.
- Identifying faults, system malfunctions and root causes.
- Completing commissioning sheets, service reports and relevant documentation.
- Participating in a weekly callout rota.
- Undertaking overtime for out-of-hours PPM and reactive work when required.
- Liaising directly with customers and internal teams to provide a high level of service.
- Supporting the selection and procurement of materials, tools and equipment.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Engineer with:
- C&G Level 2 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or NVQ equivalent.
- F-Gas certification.
- Approximately 5 years' experience within the refrigeration and air conditioning service industry.
- Strong knowledge of Split, VRV/VRF and small Chiller systems.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Experience installing and servicing A/C equipment.
- Good mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
- Knowledge of AHUs and heat recovery systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a mobile engineering environment.
- Good customer-facing and communication skills.

IPAF and PASMA are also required for the position.

Experience with larger chillers, BMS systems, electrical modifications/installations or heating systems would be advantageous, as would 18th Edition, CSCS and additional refrigeration qualifications.
