About the company
Our client is a fast-growing, independent air conditioning business covering the Midlands, delivering commercial and domestic installation, maintenance and repair works. With a strong reputation for quality workmanship and reliability, the business is expanding its engineering team and is now looking to appoint an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to support continued growth.
The role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a growing independent business, working across a varied mix of commercial and domestic installation projects throughout the Midlands. The company is open to both direct PAYE employment and self-employed subcontractor arrangements, and will consider candidates seeking either route.
Key responsibilities
* Install air conditioning and refrigeration systems across commercial and domestic sites, including split, multi-split and VRF/VRV systems
* Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, fault finding and reactive repair works
* Handle refrigerant safely and compliantly in line with F-Gas regulations, including leak testing and recovery
* Carry out pipework installation, brazing, pressure testing and commissioning of systems
* Liaise directly with commercial and domestic clients, providing a professional and reliable service
* Complete accurate job sheets, service reports and F-Gas compliance documentation
* Work independently across sites throughout the Midlands, managing your own workload and van stock
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer across commercial and domestic installation and service work
* Essential F-Gas Category 1 qualification (or equivalent)
* Strong technical knowledge of split, multi-split and VRF/VRV systems
* Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel across the Midlands
* Comfortable working independently and managing a varied daily workload
* Strong communication skills, confident liaising directly with commercial and domestic clients
* Open to either direct PAYE employment or self-employed subcontractor status
