Description:

Air Conditioning Engineer

£42,000–£48,000 per year + company van

My client is a growing air conditioning company based in Cheltenham, providing design, installation, service and maintenance across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

They are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join their team.

This is a role for an engineer who can work independently and take responsibility for installations, servicing and fault finding.

They are not looking for a trainee or mate/helper. They need an experienced engineer who knows the job and can work independently.

What you'll be doing

Installing air conditioning systems from split and multi-split through to VRV/VRF

Complete installation from pipework through to commissioning

Brazing, pressure testing and vacuuming

Commissioning and testing systems

Planned servicing and maintenance

Fault finding and diagnostics

Identifying the root cause of system faults

Carrying out repairs where possible

Assessing systems where repair is not practical and recommending the correct solution

Working on both domestic and commercial systems

Dealing professionally with customers

Completing service reports and installation documentation

Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and cleanliness

What they are looking for

Essential:

* 3–5+ years of hands-on air conditioning experience

* F-Gas Category 1

* Strong installation experience

* Split and multi-split experience

* Service and maintenance experience

* Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* Ability to work independently

* Full UK driving licence

* Good communication and customer service skills

* Pride in your workmanship

Desirable:

* VRV / VRF experience

* Commercial AC experience

* Electrical/control fault finding

* Experience with different manufacturers

Brand experience is not important. They are interested in your practical ability and understanding of air conditioning systems rather than whether you have worked with a particular manufacturer.

What they offer

* £42,000–£48,000 basic salary, depending on experience and ability

* Company van

* Company tools provided

* Overtime opportunities

* Permanent PAYE employment

* Local work across Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds

* Varied work covering installation, service and fault finding

* Opportunity to become an important part of a growing local company

The type of engineer they are looking for

They want someone who can turn up to a job and take ownership of it.

If a system isn't working, they want an engineer who can investigate the problem, diagnose the cause and either fix it or provide a sensible technical recommendation to the customer.

You don't need to know every manufacturer, but you do need to understand air conditioning.

If you are an experienced AC engineer looking for a long-term position with a growing local company, we'd like to hear from you.
