Description:

Finegreen are supporting the interim appoint of a Allied Health Professionals Clinical Development Lead. This role is new to the organisation, reporting into the SMT structure to enhance and develop the professional practice of AHP’s within the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

Provide leadership and development of Allied Health Professions staff involved in the care of the patients;
This will include, performance monitoring, staff appraisal and personal development;
Provide thoroughly understand the clinical care provided by AHP’s and facilitate/mentor the development of staff from a variety of disciplines;
Continually communicate complex information effectively from a range of sources including staff, patients, social, medical and other Health Care Professionals, thereby assist patients and carers to maximise individual potential and ensure understanding of the condition /needs;
Understand the need to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, with relevant colleagues, to ensure delivery of a co-ordinated service across the identified clinical areas;
This could include planning staffing allocation and workload re-distribution, case conferences, MDT meetings and discharge planning. The ability to effectively formulate and adjust plans as necessary is therefore essential;
To be lead member as appropriate of any in-service training programme by attendance and presentation at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions, external courses and reflective practice; to take lead responsibility for identified training role;
To provide specialised, spontaneous and planned advice, teaching, support and instruction to relatives, carers and other professionals. To promote understanding of the aims of Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy / Nutrition & Dietetics / Speech & Language Therapy and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care;
Will act as lead specialist for the AHP service, taking responsibility for the interpretation of national guidelines and making proposals to the SMT on implementation at a local level. This can involve differing priorities at network levels;
The ideal candidate will have:

Must have current Health Profession Council Registration;
Ability to pass on specialist skills/knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments;
Experience working within a managerial role, responsible for other AHP development and performance on an operational level;
Ability to develop and monitor relevant clinical professional and service standards. To provide and maintain relevant service information.
