Description:

Agile Delivery Lead

Manchester / Hybrid

£70,000–£85,000 + package

Are you passionate about helping software teams deliver at their best without introducing unnecessary process?

We're looking for an experienced Agile Delivery Lead to support two cross-functional product squads as they continue to scale. This is a hands-on delivery leadership role where you'll create the right level of structure, improve collaboration and help teams deliver consistently, rather than implementing Agile frameworks for the sake of it.

You'll work closely with Product, Engineering and Technology leadership to embed practical ways of working that suit the size, experience and ambitions of the teams.

What you'll be doing

* Introduce and evolve lightweight delivery practices that help teams collaborate effectively while maintaining pace and autonomy.

* Facilitate planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives, ensuring every ceremony adds genuine value.

* Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to improve planning, prioritisation and delivery predictability.

* Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve team flow using delivery metrics like DORA and cycle-time data, team feedback and continuous improvement techniques.

* Coordinate releases and cross-team initiatives, ensuring risks and dependencies are managed proactively.

* Provide project coordination where initiatives span multiple teams, suppliers or business functions.

* Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering and leadership, providing clear communication around delivery, risks and progress.

* Help establish pragmatic delivery standards around backlog quality, estimation, planning and team collaboration.

About you

* You've led delivery within modern software engineering teams and understand what enables high-performing product squads.

* You believe Agile is a mindset rather than a rulebook, adapting your approach to suit the team rather than enforcing a framework.

* You know how to introduce just enough process to improve delivery without slowing teams down.

* You can balance delivery management, planning and continuous improvement across multiple squads.

* You're a confident communicator who enjoys bringing people together to solve problems.

* You're pragmatic, collaborative and focused on outcomes over process.

Nice to have

* Experience working with both in-house and external engineering teams.

* Background in digital products, e-commerce, retail, loyalty or consumer-facing platforms.

* Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira or similar delivery tools.

* An interest in AI tools that can improve delivery and team productivity.

What's on offer

* Competitive salary

* Private healthcare, income protection and life assurance

* Bonus

* Hybrid working (central Manchester office, three days per week)

* The opportunity to shape delivery practices within a growing product and engineering function, working closely with senior technology leadership
