Aftermarket Commodity Buyer

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Global Purchasing Manager you will have overall responsibility for commodity lifecycle activities including Strategy support, Portfolio Management and End of Life Planning for aftermarket Commodities. Works closely with key stakeholders such as Pricing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management and Production Purchasing teams.
AMP have segmented their commodity groups and clearly understand their strategic commodities by individual Vendor: The role will have responsibility for multiple Vendors and 1,000s of part numbers.

* Responsible for supplier relationships through supplier performance management process including portfolio management process and the Commercial issue resolution process, responsible for supplier partnerships as defined by the supplier segmentation tool

* Responsible for End of Production Life strategy, planning and delivery

* Lead internal stakeholder relationships across the Customer Service function including working closely with Pricing, Commercial and Supply Chain Management

* Identifying cost change opportunities through resourcing, product rationalisation and packaging through an enterprise approach

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Sourcing:

* Work closely with AMP Capacity Planner to ensure sufficient capacity and manage strategic capacity difficulties and changes

Cost Management:

* Lead stakeholder alignment in relation to Total Cost of Ownership; piece cost, investment, Lead times, MOQ and inventory costs

* Deliver material cost and distribution costs to target

* Manage virtual spend budget to delivery EOL and other cost increases to target

* Presentation to both Purchasing and IM governance reviews with relevant business cases

Supplier Management

* Represent AMP within supplier relationship management approach. Lead for non-current portfolio. Own portfolio management process

* Responsible for End of production Life strategy and planning ensuring availability alongside achievement of commercial targets managing multiple stakeholder KPIs to recommend best business case.

* Supplier and Supply chain Risk Management for assigned commodities ensuring stakeholder KPIs on availability (BOLs, Unit Downs etc.) are met

Other

* Participate in functional improvement/transformation projects as required

* Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Knowledge, Skills and experience

* Thoroughly identifying opportunities for creating value in a category, structuring & executing complex analyses and applying purchasing tools (e.g., QAF analysis, cost breakdown, LPP, price variance analysis, Best-of- Benchmarking, value stream mapping...)

* Translating analytical results into detailed, robust actionable recommendations to the business Effectively using relevant IT tools for collecting, analysing, and presenting data (e.g., SAP, Excel, PPT)

* Implementing and delivering purchasing strategies across the affected areas of the business

* Influencing cross-functional engagement to implement strategies with the focus on total value chain delivery

* Creating and delivering a clear and robust communication plan.
