Microsoft Purview Solution Architect

Contract: 3 Months
Are you an experienced Microsoft Purview Solution Architect with strong expertise in data governance, information protection and enterprise solution design?
Do you have the architectural experience to define solutions, establish governance frameworks and engage confidently with senior business and technical stakeholders?
We're recruiting for a senior Microsoft Purview Solution Architect to support a data security, governance and compliance programme within a complex enterprise environment.
This is an architecture-led consulting opportunity requiring someone who can combine deep Microsoft Purview knowledge with strategic solution design, technical governance and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
Leading the architecture and solution design of Microsoft Purview capabilities across enterprise environments.
Assessing unstructured data across Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange and Teams.
Defining data governance frameworks, information protection strategies and operating models.
Advising on data classification, sensitivity labelling, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and retention policies.
Establishing architecture governance, solution assurance and technical design standards.
Defining role-based access controls (RBAC), delegated administration and data ownership models.
Providing architectural guidance on eDiscovery, compliance and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
Advising on governance approaches for non-Microsoft data sources and cloud environments.
Leading technical workshops, presenting architectural recommendations and influencing senior stakeholders.
Producing solution architecture documentation, design recommendations and knowledge transfer materials.
Essential Experience:
Proven experience as a Senior Solution Architect, Security Architect or Data Governance Architect.
Strong Microsoft Purview architecture and solution design experience.
Demonstrable experience owning architectural decisions, solution designs and technical governance.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, DLP, sensitivity labelling and data classification.
Experience defining enterprise data governance frameworks and operating models.
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 data security, compliance and information lifecycle management.
Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, facilitating workshops and presenting architectural recommendations.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into business-focused solutions.
Current, active SC Security Clearance is mandatory.
Desirable Experience:
Microsoft Purview eDiscovery and DSAR processes.
Data governance across non-Microsoft platforms and cloud environments.
Architecture Review Boards, Technical Design Authorities and formal design assurance.
Experience within large enterprise, public sector or regulated environments.
About the Opportunity
This assignment requires a senior architect who can take ownership of solution design, provide governance leadership and advise stakeholders on how Microsoft Purview can support enterprise data protection and compliance objectives.
The successful consultant will be comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels, challenging requirements where necessary and delivering practical, well-governed architectural recommendations.
