Advanced Teaching Assistant – SEMH

Location: Malton, North Yorkshire

Start Date: September 2024
Salary: £83 - £100 per day

Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent

If so, we want you to join our dedicated team at an excellent Client Secondary School in Malton, North Yorkshire, to join asan Advanced Teaching Assistant – SEMH, starting in September 2024.This position is ideal for individuals who aspire to make a significant difference in the lives of students and contribute to their educational journey.

The school is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with students aged 11-18.

Advanced Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans for students with SEMH needs.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
Assist in the development and delivery of targeted interventions and programs designed to improve students' emotional and mental well-being.
Assisting in creating and implementing educational resources and materials.
Assessing student progress and providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
Supervising students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Contributing to the overall school community through active participation.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Relevant qualifications and certifications as a Teaching Assistant or a Degree related to Education or Psychology.
Proven experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with SEMH needs.
Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
