Description:

Advanced Practitioner | Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team |

NonStop Care are working with a local authority in Essex area, who are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time Advanced Practitioner within their Fostering Recruitment & Assessment Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a child-focused service that is committed to restorative practice, professional development, and achieving the best outcomes for children and families.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage complex and sensitive cases, providing specialist advice, professional consultation, and support to colleagues across the service. You will be responsible for undertaking high-quality assessments, analysing information, developing evidence-based plans, and ensuring that children and foster families receive the right support at the right time.

The role requires a holistic approach to practice, considering each child within the context of their family, education, health, social networks, and wider community. You will also ensure all case management is completed in line with statutory requirements, fostering regulations, and council policies and procedures.

The position is hybrid working, with attendance in the office required a minimum of 2-3 days per week. Team meetings take place every other week, and duty is undertaken in the office approximately 3 days per month.

Benefits:

Permanent, stable contract
Competitive salary
Flexible hybrid working
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Excellent training and development opportunities
Access to a professional development programme designed by social workers
Regular restorative supervision and dedicated development-focused supervision
Opportunity to lead on areas of professional interest within the team
Supportive management structure
Generous Local Government Pension Scheme

Requirements:

To be shortlisted for this position, you must be able to work in the UK, hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, have completed your ASYE, and be at least 3 years post-qualified.

Applicants must currently be a Practice Educator and have knowledge and/or direct experience of fostering practice, National Minimum Standards, and trauma-informed approaches within fostering services. You will also need experience of supervision, safeguarding, and managing or overseeing complex caseloads.

A strong understanding of the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families, social work intervention methods, and extensive assessment experience within a statutory social work setting is essential. Previous staff management, supervision, or practice teaching experience is highly desirable.

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and want to join a local authority where all paths lead back to the child, we would love to hear from you.
