Location: Lincoln LN5 7PS
Working Pattern: Hybrid (approximately 60% office-based during the first few months)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour, increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Security Clearance: Basic DBS Required to be provided by Brook Street for successful applicants

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for two Administrative Officers to join HMCTS in Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and customer service skills who enjoys working in a busy, public-facing environment.
As an Administrative Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective delivery of justice services. You will provide administrative support across a range of court functions, assisting court users, legal professionals, judicial staff, and other stakeholders to ensure cases and hearings are managed efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

Prepare for, facilitate, and process a range of hearing types.

Provide support and guidance to court users and stakeholders through face-to-face interaction, telephone enquiries, and written correspondence.

Assist individuals with varying and sometimes complex needs by providing clear and consistent information.

Use HMCTS guidance, scripts, and knowledge resources to direct users to the most appropriate services.

Respond professionally to enquiries and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and in accordance with procedures.

Escalate concerns where required and maintain accurate records using relevant systems.

Identify and report building-related risks and incidents to the appropriate personnel.

Administrative and Operational Support

Process casework accurately and efficiently in line with standard operating procedures and service level targets.

Maintain and manage case files, ensuring compliance with data protection and information security requirements.

Perform accurate data entry and records management activities.

Support jury administration, including selection, deferrals, reassignments, attendance monitoring, and expense processing.

Assist with court listing and scheduling activities, ensuring the effective use of judicial time.

Provide administrative support to judicial staff, including diary management and coordination tasks where required.

Assist with enforcement activities, including financial assessments, fine collection support, and basic reporting.

Support health and safety processes, including facility checks, issue reporting, and compliance activities.

About You

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

Previous administration experience in a busy office environment.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively.

Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and other computer systems.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.

A flexible and positive approach to work.
