Business Development Executive | FMCG Manufacturing
Northwich, Cheshire | UK-wide customer travel
£45,000-£55,000 + £5,000-£20,000 performance bonus + £450/month car allowance
We're recruiting a technically minded Business Development Executive for a specialist manufacturer supplying the FMCG sector. Combining new business sales with hands-on customer support, you'll help manufacturers improve packaging line performance and build profitable, long-term relationships.
The role:
Win new business through proactive prospecting, customer meetings and managing the full sales cycle.
Diagnose packaging line issues involving cartoners, labellers, carton sealing, case packers and end-of-line systems.
Work lineside to improve OEE, reduce downtime and costs, and optimise production efficiency.
Run product trials in live production environments and validate performance improvements.
Recommend consumables, upgrades and system improvements, supported by technical reports and proposals using real performance data.
Support implementation, monitor results and develop existing accounts to ensure lasting success.
What we're looking for:
At least two years' new business sales experience, including selling into FMCG manufacturing.
Confidence discussing technical challenges with engineering and production teams.
A proactive, commercially focused approach with strong relationship-building skills.
Experience with high-speed packaging equipment, adhesives, inks or coatings would be advantageous.
Knowledge of hot melt adhesive systems such as Nordson, Valco, Meler or ITW would be beneficial.
Hours: 40 hours per week, across five days.
