Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day?

A specialist SEND school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Additional Needs Support Assistant to support pupils with SLD, PMLD and autism.

The Role:

You'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning while supporting their communication, development, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing in a safe, nurturing environment.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals, you will:

-Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
-Deliver planned learning activities and adapt support to individual needs
-Assist with personal care, including toileting, dressing and eating
-Support therapy programmes and administer medication following training
-Encourage communication using Makaton, PECS and assistive technology
-Promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
-Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
-Support positive behaviour strategies and physical intervention where trained
-Prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating environment
-Support pupils during snack times, outdoor learning, trips and off-site activities
-Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents and external professionals
-Support Post-16 pupils in developing independent living skills
