We are currently recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking private Training Provider for an Additional Learning Support Specialist.
Our client offers support to employers and apprentices across the UK in designing, managing, and delivering the best apprenticeship provision just the way they want it. They aim to provide life-changing adventures for customers delivering excellence in all its courses & services.
The role will expect you to support the development of additional learning support for apprentices on programmes in the following sectors (Hospitality, Outdoor Education, Early Years, Leadership and Management, Business Administration, Customer Service and Agriculture) from Level 2 to Level 5. The support to the apprentices will be through a range of mediums including staff training, 1:1 support if needed (online), and developing strategies to support through support plans.
You will join a forward-thinking team delivering outstanding apprenticeships meeting the needs of the apprentices, employers, and stakeholders. Although a home-based role, working independently and managing your hours to meet the needs of all parties including and operational needs of the role does require you to travel as required.
Key responsibilities:
* To support learners with Additional Learning Support (ALS) requirements, working closely with the training specialists to ensure high-quality support is delivered to the apprentices.
* Support, deliver, and manage the training requirements for staff to enable them to support their apprentices during the programme.
* Develop and manage resources to support learning across the different sectors.
* Produce reports for stakeholders to ensure learner progress is monitored.
* Contribute to the ongoing quality improvement plan and processes within Skern Training and Skills.
* Collaborative work with the Compliance & Funding Specialist to ensure auditable activities are captured.
* Assist with the Onboarding process to programmes and ensure the relevant functional skills and additional learner support are appropriate and at the correct level.
* Support apprentices both new to the programme and on programme with EHCP’s.
* To apply for reasonable adjustments in line with the Joint Qualification Council guidance
* Monitoring the internal system dashboard to report and action plan with the training specialists
Experience required:
* Hold relevant industry (professional) related qualifications and certificates
* The ability to demonstrate an understanding of blended approaches to supporting apprentices through a range of teaching, coaching, facilitation, and assessment methods
* Competent in the use of ICT to include Word, Excel, and Microsoft teams
* A strong commitment to your own continuous professional development (CPD)
* Efficient time management & organisational skills
* GCSEs English and Maths (C or above or functional skills equivalent)
