Are you looking for a new opportunity to join a warm, vibrant, highly experienced team? Working across our 3 CQC registered care homes, will give you the opportunity to work closely with our teams and our service users; whilst planning and facilitating activities,  events, community meetings, and trips for our services users. You will also have the opportunity to manage our volunteers. This role is innovative, creative and contributes greatly to the amazing work we do at the care homes.

As an Activities Co-ordinator at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

Work with Registered Care Home Team Manager to set up and facilitate a program of relevant activities for service users.

Identify and agree outcomes for all activities provided and collect the required data.

Ensure that all activities are aligned to the principles of wellbeing, recovery and empowerment.

Develop effective relationships with external statutory, public and voluntary organisations in order to improve access to and engagement with relevant programs and initiative that will benefit Registered Care Home service users.

Encourage users to have on-going engagement with existing networks including faith-based groups and informal sources of support.

Provide information and advice on employment, educational, training and volunteering opportunities. And to develop progressive steppingstones to access these opportunities alongside the Registered Care Home staff teams.

Support users in accessing mental health resources, enabling access to opportunities for recovery and rehabilitation and community capacity building.

Work with non Registered Care Home workers in the local area to support the use of drop-in service and well-being groups where relevant.

Work with the Team Manager/Area Manager to review the social inclusion progress of the RCH service users addressing diversity and inclusion issues for Black and minority ethnic communities or for people from the LGBTQi+ community.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:

Experience of working with people requiring support related to mental ill health and other needs.

Experience of facilitating activity or support groups in a therapeutic setting.

Experience of training/supporting frontline support workers to run activities and facilitate wellbeing group sessions.

Ability to support service users to achieve their goals & aspirations.

Excellent knowledge of, issues related to signs, symptoms and treatments of mental illness; ability to assess service users declining mental health and take appropriate action.

Knowledge of health and safety relevant to the role including working within accommodation and external settings.

Ability to use I.T. based Support Planning, Safety Assessment and Key working systems.

Able to produce letters and correspondence including care/support plans.

Ability to complete and record basic financial transactions, i.e. petty cash.

Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
