Acoustic Engineer

London | £38,000-£42,000 + benefits

A well-established engineering consultancy is looking for an Acoustic Engineer to join its London team.

This is a good opportunity for someone with experience in building acoustics who wants to work on a varied range of projects and continue developing their technical and client-facing experience.

The team works closely with architects, MEP engineers and other consultants, so the role will suit someone who enjoys being involved in projects from the early design stages through to completion.

The role

Day to day, the successful candidate will be involved in a mix of acoustic design, site work and technical reporting. Projects are varied and can include commercial, residential, hospitality, cultural and other specialist developments.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

Carrying out acoustic surveys and site measurements

Producing calculations, assessments and technical reports

Supporting acoustic design work across a range of projects

Using acoustic modelling and analysis software

Working alongside architects, engineers and wider project teams

Attending site visits and project meetings

Providing practical technical advice to clients and colleagues

Managing their own workload while receiving support from senior members of the team

What they're looking for

They are looking for someone with experience in acoustic consultancy, ideally with a focus on building acoustics.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics or a related subject

Experience working within an acoustic consultancy or engineering environment

Experience carrying out acoustic surveys and assessments

A good understanding of building acoustics

Strong report-writing and communication skills

The ability to work well as part of a wider project team

A proactive approach and an interest in continuing to develop professionally

What's on offer

Alongside a salary of £38,000-£42,000, the company offers a strong benefits package designed to support flexibility, wellbeing and long-term career development.

Benefits include:

Nine-day fortnight - the option to work compressed hours and take every other Friday, or another agreed day, off with no reduction in pay

Flexible and hybrid working

25 days' annual leave, increasing with length of service

The option to buy or sell annual leave

Private medical insurance, with the option to add dependants

Critical illness cover

Enhanced sick pay and wider wellbeing support

A contributory pension scheme with up to a 5% employer contribution

Support towards professional development, technical training and professional accreditations

Clear opportunities for career progression

A range of flexible benefits and employee discounts

Access to social, community and networking groups

Location: London
Salary: £38,000-£42,000 + benefits

This would suit an Acoustic Engineer who has already gained some consultancy experience and is now looking for a role where they can take on more responsibility, work on a broad range of projects and continue progressing their career
