Audit Trainee

We are actively recruiting a proactive Audit Trainee who is passionate about making a difference to join our friendly and supportive working environment. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced audit professionals to learn the required procedures needed for an audit career with full training leading to a professional qualification and development opportunities to enhance your career. This would be the perfect role for an A-level leaver or graduate with entry level accounting knowledge/experience. With the rising costs of university, it is a great opportunity to “earn as you learn” rather than following the traditional route of going to university.

The successful candidate will have a varied role within the team and be provided with full training leading to a professional qualification (AAT)

This position offers an excellent opportunity to obtain audit and accounts experience across a variety of sectors.

The Role:

* Assist with the completion of assigned audit engagements within the office and at client premises. Depending on assigned engagement, you will report to either the Audit Senior or Manager.

* Manage your own daily activities assigned to assist the Audit Senior during an engagement,

* Communicates identified issues with Audit Senior or Manager to ensure any concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

* Conducts assigned audit engagements as specified within the annual audit plan

* Identifies and communicates issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk

* Conducts audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives

* Obtains and reviews evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well documented

* Ensure adherence at all times to all applicable department procedures and professional standards

* Building professional relationships with clients and related third parties

* Responding to clients in an appropriate and timely manner

* Communicates to audit team and clients in a manner that is clear and concise ensuring high quality, timely, accurate and efficient results

* Ensure adequate focus on personal professional growth relevant to taking on more challenging assignments, in line with standard audit career progression – proactively seeks relevant education and training opportunities

* Keep Audit Manager and Senior informed of work in progress

* Keep clients informed of job progress

* Performs other related and ad hoc duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge:

* Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently, proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure work effort is directed wholly toward desired outcome

* Ability to manage time and work to budgets and deadlines

* Ability to prepare clear and concise working papers.

* Strong communication skills

* Ability to identify sensitive issues and facilitate communications in a proactive manner to avoid surprises

* Willingness and ability to adapt to new circumstances, information and challenges

* Execute effective and thorough application of all internal audit standards within assigned responsibility

* Ability and willingness to travel

* Work independently and as part of a team

* Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude

Qualifications Essential:

A-Levels – A to C results in at least 3 A Levels

Maths GCSE – 9 to 7 pass minimum

Experience Preferred/Essential:

* Proficient user of Microsoft office, specifically Microsoft Excel

Professional Development:

* Attend professional development courses

* Adhere to all AAT rules and requirements

* Attend all AAT college classes and pass AAT exams
