Description:

Accounts Receivable/Credit Control Administrator

Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: Circa £30,000 depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working Pattern: Fully office-based

The Opportunity

MET Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Accounts Receivable Administrator to join an established manufacturing business based in Dudley.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounts receivable who enjoys taking ownership of their work, understands the full sales ledger process and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have gained substantial, hands-on experience within an accounts receivable function and can demonstrate a thorough understanding of the processes involved, rather than simply processing transactions.

The business has recently implemented SAP, so we're looking for someone who is confident working with accounting systems, enjoys problem-solving and can adapt to new processes and the challenges that naturally come with a system implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Raise and process sales invoices, ensuring accurate pricing, VAT treatment and customer information.

Maintain customer accounts and ensure sales ledger records are accurate and up to date.

Allocate customer receipts and investigate any discrepancies or unallocated payments.

Perform customer account and trade debtor reconciliations.

Monitor outstanding balances, prepare aged debtor reports and support credit control activities.

Investigate and resolve invoice queries, payment discrepancies and customer account issues.

Process credit notes, refunds and adjustments where required.

Support month-end procedures, including reconciliations, revenue cut-off and reporting.

Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Sales and Operations to resolve queries.

Assist with identifying and resolving transactional issues as the recently implemented SAP system continues to bed in.

Maintain accurate financial records and support internal controls and audit requirements.

About You

We're looking for someone who has developed a strong foundation in accounts receivable through substantial practical experience.

You'll ideally have:

Proven experience within an accounts receivable or sales ledger position, with exposure to the full AR process.

A stable employment background, demonstrating depth of experience and ownership of responsibilities.

A sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and how sales ledger transactions impact the wider accounts.

Strong reconciliation skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies independently.

Experience of cash allocation, invoicing, credit control and month-end processes.

Confidence using accounting systems or ERP software; SAP experience would be advantageous.

Good Excel skills and a methodical, accurate approach to your work.

The ability to identify problems, investigate their causes and work towards practical solutions.

Strong organisational skills and the confidence to manage competing priorities.

A proactive, inquisitive approach and a genuine interest in understanding how accounting processes work.

Candidates who are currently studying towards AAT, or who have developed equivalent knowledge through practical experience, are particularly welcome.

Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an established business where you'll play an important role within the finance function.

You'll have the chance to use your existing accounts receivable knowledge, contribute to the smooth running of the sales ledger and support the business as it continues to develop its financial systems and processes.

Salary: Circa £30,000 depending on experience

Please note: This is a fully on-site position based in Dudley, with no hybrid working arrangement
