As Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring efficient processing, strong controls, and continuous improvement across both UK and offshore teams. You will be based in the Glasgow office, where you will lead and develop a local AP team while also providing supervision, guidance, and support to an overseas shared service team.

This is a highly visible role within a business currently undergoing significant transformation and process standardisation, offering the opportunity to shape future ways of working, improve systems and controls, and drive operational excellence within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments

* Supervise, support, and develop the Glasgow-based AP team, fostering a high-performance culture

* Provide oversight and direction to an offshore/overseas AP team to ensure consistent standards and service delivery

* Manage AP processes including invoice processing, payment runs, supplier reconciliations, and query resolution

* Drive improvements in AP processes, controls, and systems as part of ongoing finance transformation initiatives

* Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP systems and automation tools

* Monitor AP KPIs, ensuring targets for accuracy, efficiency, and payment terms are met

* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

* Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies, and audit requirements

* Identify and implement opportunities for process standardisation and efficiency gains across multiple locations

Key Skills & Experience:

* Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager or Senior AP Supervisor role

* Strong leadership experience, including managing both onshore and offshore/shared service teams

* Experience within a large, complex, or multi-site organisation (facilities management, construction, or similar sectors desirable)

* Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and systems

* Exposure to finance transformation, process improvement, or shared service environments

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

* Confident, hands-on approach with the ability to manage competing priorities

What’s on Offer:

Our client offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, along with the opportunity to join a business undergoing exciting transformation and change. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Payable professional looking to step into a leadership role within a global organisation and make a tangible impact on how the finance function operates across multiple regions
