Description:

Exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our client, an IT Company based in Huddersfield on a full time, permanent basis. The Accounts Assistant will handle Finance, Order Administration, Facilities Management, and Administrative Support as well as ensuring the organisation meets all obligations and liaising with external parties like banks, auditors, surveyors, and facilities.

The ideal candidate should have experience with inputting ledger transactions in a similar role and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Accounts Assistant Position Overview

Keep daily financial records and perform financial procedures (e.g., receipts, payments, invoices, petty cash).
Conduct daily reconciliation and cash flow forecasting.
Produce contract renewal invoices daily.
Authorize and process expenses as per procedures.
Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and ledgers.
Ensure compliance with finance processes and regulations.
Open new ledger accounts with approved credit limits and payment terms.
Follow debtors chase process and report as needed.
Reconcile company bank accounts daily.
Resolve account queries promptly.
Process payment schedules and reconcile supplier invoices and statements.
Produce and reconcile monthly stock figures and reports.
Update database contracts.
Complete month-end procedures to meet deadlines
Assist with the order cycle, covering the Order Administrator role during absences.
Purchase stock and receive deliveries.
Manage mobile phone agreements and contracts.
Maintain company vehicles, including MOTs, servicing, and monthly inspections.
General office administration duties

Accounts Assistant Position Requirements

2 years' experience of finance tasks in a busy finance and admin office Accounts knowledge
Ability to prioritise to meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of Fixed Asset registers & Depreciation
Cash flow management
Excel skills with minimum of common formulas
Experience of submitting VAT returns Including VAT 101 reports to HMRC
