Accounts Assistant

Location: Bournemouth

Salary: £28,000 DOE

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm

Tru Talent is delighted to be working with a well-established waste management client who is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to support the Finance Director and wider finance team. You'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

Processing customer and supplier invoices accurately and on time
Maintaining purchase ledger and sales ledger records
Collecting monthly direct debit payments
Allocating customer payments and reconciling customer accounts
Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
Carrying out credit control duties, including chasing outstanding payments
Supporting month-end processes and management accounts preparation
Entering financial data into internal accounting systems
Managing the finance department mailbox and handling incoming post
Responding to customer and supplier enquiries via telephone and email
Liaising with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve account queries
Providing general administrative support to the Finance Director and finance team
Assisting colleagues across the business when required
Needed for the role of Accounts Assistant:

Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
Good organisational and time management abilities
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
