Description:
We are hiring an Accounts Assistant to join a company in Flitwick. This exciting position would allow for continuation of skills development as well as providing exposure to the wider finance department when they need support.
The Accounts assistant would be responsible for processing invoices and expenses for suppliers, contractors, sub-contractors and more. This role would also require occasional phone/email conversations with the contractors and subcontractors regarding their payments, and internal cooperation with various teams to allow for smooth functioning of purchase orders.
Key responsibilities for an Accounts Assistant:
* Collecting and maintaining purchase order files, matching orders against their delivery notes and their invoices, solving any enquiries that may arise to get the invoices paid
* Support with recording and processing of contractor and sub-contractor outgoings including communicating with contractors/sub-contractors regarding payments
* Managing one of the two monthly payment runs
* Supporting with handling of high volume of supplier invoices, coding the correct nominal and job codes
* Prepare and process supplier and sub-contractor’s costs via online banking
* Reconciliations
* Coding and processing of expenses
* Assist with cash expected/received
* Ensure the correct POs are raised to match invoices- working with internal teams such as the purchasing department
* Ad Hoc duties as the company may reasonably need
* Help other members of the team in their duties as workload entails
* Any further requests to help the finance team attain monthly and yearly deadlines
* Filing and general office administration
Essential Skills for an Accounts Assistant:
* Excellent communication skills
* Knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
* Experience working in a finance department, e.g. as a finance assistant or accounts assistant
* Able to work in a team
* Competency with numbers
* Driven and Organised
* Reliable and able to take accountability/ownership
